(poem of the day) She Recalls by Fatima Al Mater فاطمة المطر

She Recalls

Fatima Al Mater

She’s still searching for a storm savage enough to invade

her, overthrow what’s left of her

faith…

Her heart, an old, lacerated paper bag whirled carelessly by

brutal winds. She recalls how safe it felt lingering to the

worn out crooked pole she called love, tethered by her

fragility, crippled by her loss…

One more?

You’re really making me want to start reading more poetry. I have the complete works of Allen Ginsberg in a huge hardcover and that’s basically it. What collections do you recommend?

Here is my non-answer. Open random books ( real or virtual) until you find a voice you like. 🙂 seriously, yours is the only opinion that matters. I like letting one writer lead me to another. To have no goal but your own pleasure: how lucky we are.
